Jiangxi Provincial Laboratory of Polymer Energy Materials Engineering was established by Professor Yiwang Chen, the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, a talent of the National Hundred and Thousand and Ten-Thousand Talent Project, and a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation of the “Ten Thousand Talent Program. Based on the development of organic silicon rubber and new energy materials industry in Jiangxi, the lab is engaged in cutting-edge basic research and applied research on high-performance elastomers and photoelectric conversion and energy storage devices.

At present, the lab has a lab area of 2000 m2 and fixed assets of 80 million yuan. Currently, there are 7 professors, 7 doctoral supervisors, 1 winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 1 leading talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation of the “Ten Thousand Talent Program”, 1 talent of National Hundred and Thousand and Ten-Thousand Talent Project, 1 winner of National Excellent Youth Fund, 1 Changjiang Young Scholar of the Ministry of Education, 2 talents of China Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program, 1 talent of Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program by China Association for Science and Technology, 5 talents of Jiangxi Province’s “Double Thousand Plan”, and 8 winners of Jiangxi Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund. The lab has cultivated about 200 doctoral and master students. The team has hosted and completed more than 60 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and the 973 Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The lab has published more than 500 papers in high quality journals such as Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., etc. The lab has obtained more than 50 authorized invention patents. Awards of the lab include: 1 first prize of Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Award, 2 second prizes of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, 4 second prizes of Jiangxi Provincial Natural Science Award, 1 third prize of Jiangxi Provincial Technological Invention Award and 3 second prizes of Jiangxi Provincial Teaching Achievement Award. More than 10 doctoral students won Excellent Doctor Degree Dissertations of Jiangxi province, and 4 students won China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Awards. The laboratory has made many breakthroughs in new polymer materials and energy devices, produced many new technologies in large-area printing of high-efficiency flexible solar cells and high-energy-density water-based supercapacitors, and industrialized a number of new silicone elastomer functional materials.
